Epoxy Floor Coatings
Having a large concrete floor seems ideal in many situations. Whether it’s in your garage or at your place of business, it can help make cleaning up messes a quicker, easier job. The problems come when you get imperfections from either dropping something heavy and chipping the concrete, or when dirt gets integrated into the concrete. Once that begins to happen it may still be easy to clean, but it starts to look pretty ugly. There’s a solution to keep your floor looking good, while still being able to easily keep it clean.
If you get an epoxy floor coating, you will no longer have to worry about any damage or unseemly spots on your concrete floor. Epoxy coats are great for upkeep purposes while bringing some color and unique decoration to your concrete floor. The epoxy comes in three basic types: colored, vinylchip, and quartz. Colored is the weakest of the three, but is still an upgrade from just painting the concrete as it will last longer, while being more durable. Vinylchip is the next step up and is tougher, while hiding cracks and imperfections due to its confetti-like appearance. Quartz, sometimes referred to as “sand” due to its appearance, is the best out of the three.
While it is possible to do epoxy coats yourself, it’s better to call an experienced professional. Epoxy floor coatings can be a very tricky thing to do properly and even if you wish to do it yourself you will require the proper training and the best quality materials are reserved for licensed professionals.
